James 1:17 tells us, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” God gives us gifts so that we share them and He delights in our successes and good shepherds to our gifts.

Martin Luther King, Jr. by: Amelia Park
Martin Luther King Jr. is known as a person who moved and changed the whole United States of America. He stood up for civil rights and gave speeches to move people’s minds as a whole. One of his speeches, “I Have A Dream” is known very well even now. Also, there is a certain day named “Martin Luther King day” on January 15th, which was his birthday. All these examples show how much he affected America.
Martin Luther King was born at 1929, January 15th. Since there were many schools that were segregated by blacks and whites, Martin Luther King went to segregated public school. But, it was not only the school which was segregated. Buses, restaurant, and even water fountains and toilets were “for whites only”. So after he graduated the Boston University, King started the movements for civil rights for his first time. He boycotted to ride the bus with whole other people who had a same opinion with him, requiring the non-segregation. The boycott lasted 382 days, and the bus company’s amount of income decreased a lot. Finally, the Supreme Court of the United States declared that everyone will ride a bus equally, without any segregation. However, Martin was arrested and his house was bombed during the boycott. But at the same time, he emerged into a new leader of civil rights movement.
He traveled over 6 million miles, spoke over twenty-five hundred times, and even wrote 5 books for civil rights. And finally, he received the Nobel Peace prize, at age 35. He was the youngest man to receive a Nobel prize. However, on the evening of April 4th, 1968, when he was standing on the balcony of his motel room in Tennessee, he was assassinated by a man who disagreed with integration.
Even though he was killed and there were so many people who opposed his views during when he was alive, he is in everyone’s heart now, remembered and respected.
