Please compare and contrast the two Native American myths we read, "Loo-Wit the Fire Keeper" and "How Coyote Stole Fire". Include transition words and compare + contrast language.

In these two stories, LooWit and Coyote, they have some differences and some similarities. These stories have differences such as, in the LooWit story the brothers get turned into mountains, but in the coyote story, they live happily ever after. Some other differences are that the LooWit story started with a fire, then lost it, whereas the coyote story received the fire at the end. The last difference is that the creator in the LooWit story was amusing and generous; in contrast, the fire beings were selfish, greedy, and not generous.
Some of the similarities are that they both have the problem with fire. Also these stories are Native American Myths. There is also a conflict and resolution. Last of all the myths come to a resolution. In these stories I learned not to be selfish and greedy, instead, I learned I should be generous kind, and to show love.

“Loo-Wit” and “How Coyote stole fire” are both Native American myths. Therefore, I was able to find a lot of similarities between them. However, as you read these stories, you will find that they have many differences, too.
As I mentioned before, “Loo-Wit” and “How Coyote stole fire” are commonly a Native American myth. Also, they are similar because their stories are both about acquiring or stealing fire. The main characters of “Loo-Wit” have a higher being called: ‘The Creator’, and the characters of “How Coyote Stole Fire” have a higher being as well.
Although these stories have many similarities, they are also different in many ways, too. For example, the fire keeper of “Loo-Wit” is gentle, kind, and sharing. However, on the other hand, the fire beings of “How Coyote stole fire” are very selfish and powerful. Also, although “Loo-Wit” is mainly about humans’ story, “How Coyote stole fire” is mostly about the story of an animal. Lastly, “How Coyote stole fire” has only one problem happening: stealing fire, but “Loo-Wit” has a lot of problems going on. Some of them are quarreling over land, women, and fire.
As you can see from these example, these stories have many similarities and also many distinct characteristics.

Loo-wit and the Coyote story are both Native American myths. They explain circumstances that happen
like how Loo-wit was Mt. Saint Helens and that when it erupted, it was Loo-wit waking up. Also they each include fire in their story. Their stories basically evolve around fire In Loo-wit they gain fire, similarly in the Coyote story the people also gain fire. In the Coyote story they have a significant being, as well as the Loo-wit story. Another similarity is how both stories has a conflict and resolve it by the end of the story. For instance, the people in the coyote story eventually acquire fire, when at first fire was not achievable.
In contrast to the similarities between both stories there are also many differences to explore. Loo-wit is mainly about the conflict between the people although the Coyote story involves animals as well. Then there is the contrast of the Creator-that is forgiving and generous-and the Fire Beings, that are greedy and selfish. Another difference is how in the Loo-wit story includes 2 warring tribes fighting for better things, on the other hand in the Coyote story there is one tribe that needs something. Another comparison is how in the Coyote story there is one main problem, however in the Loo-wit story there are many new problems coming up. The tribes in the story have different religions because one involves fire being whereas the other includes a Creator.
Both stories , despite their similarities and differences, are very fun and exciting to read.

In Loo-wit the Fire keeper the main characters are humans, whereas in Coyote the main characters were animals. Another difference is in Loo-Wit the keeper of the fire is and, generous woman. On the other hand the Fire Beings are greedy about sharing their fire. Although the Creator is kind, generous, and compassionate in Loo-wit, but in coyote the Fire Beings are mean and selfish. Lastly in Loo- Wit the main characters turn into mountains because of their bad decisions, but in Coyote they stay their normal shape and form.
Loo- wit is a native American myth, which is the same as Coyote. In coyote and Loo-wit they similarly have conflict that leads to resolutions. Loo-Wits and Coyote's myths both have logical explanations. Also the animals in Loo-Wit and Coyote have human characteristics. Moreover in Loo- wit there is a higher being otherwise known as the creator. In Coyote there are Fire Beings that are higher than Coyote and the other Indians.

Loo-wit and coyote are both very similar for many reasons. First of all, they both have fire as the main source of the conflict. They also both have beings higher than themselves. Coyote, as well as Loo-Wit, are Native American myths. Also, Loo-Wit and Coyote share an element commonly found in stories: a conflict, and a resolution. Finally, the myths also show how things have come to be. They both have animals that exert human characteristics.
Both stories have many differences too. For example: In Loo-Wit, they had fire, but were greedy and lost it, while in Coyote, the greedy fire beings keep the fire from the humans, and the kind, brave coyote helps them by getting it back. Another example of a difference is that in loo-wit, the main characters turned into mountains, but that did not happen in Coyote. Moreover, in Coyote, the fire beings were very selfish and greedy, however, in loo-wit, the Creator and the fire keeper were two different people, but they were both kind, forgiving, and unselfish, but in Coyote, there were four selfish, mean fire beings who kept the fire away from the freezing, starving, people. Another difference is that in Loo-wit, the plot was mainly about the people fighting, however, it is the animals and the Fire Beings who are fighting over the fire. Finally, in coyote, there is one main conflict, but, in Loo-Wit, there are new problems practically every paragraph.

Two similarities between Loo-Wit and Coyote are that they are both Native American Myths and they start with fire. Also there are higher beings in the two stories, such as the Creator in Loo-Wit and the Fire beings in Coyote. Moreover, commonly the characters have hardships with fire. Finally, the stories are alike in that they teach about not being greedy.
On the contrary, one of the differences between Loo-Wit and Coyote is that in Coyote they find fire, but in Loo-Wit they lose fire first and then find it. Another difference is that the Fire keeper of Loo-Wit is kind. On the other hand, the fire beings of Coyote are selfish and greedy. Also in Loo-Wit, people meet fire from a person whereas in coyote people get the fire from animals. In addition Coyote Explains why animals have tails or stripes though Loo- Wit does not.
