"The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall,
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40

Caribbean Adventure by: Brooke Reynolds
In summer vacation of 2015, I discovered something that would change my life forever. When I was heading to my month-long vacation in the Caribbean, I packed my things and scurried off to the airport. In the ginormous airplane, I had a wonderful time. The back of my seat wasn't getting kicked, I was in first-class, and the food was awesome (which is surprising because airline food is usually disgusting). When I arrived to my perfect vacation spot, I thought all was right with the world. I unpacked my luggage at the hotel and dashed off to the beach. At the beach, I was lounging in my chair, sipping coconut milk, when I noticed a single crystal shell in the sand. I carefully uncovered the shell and found another, so I gingerly extracted it and found another, and so on.
After I had spent an hour cautiously excavating, I found that the trail of mystical shells were heading to the coastline. Then I tossed on my scuba gear and dived into the water. I tried to keep my head on while looking at all of the elegant and vivid colors of the coral reef, and kept on looking for shells. When the shells led me to an ominous-looking cave, I emerged wildly in the still water.
I had surfaced in what it seems to be an underwater grotto! When I had almost filled up my huge basket with shells, the last shell was a key to an ENORMOUS chest. When the chest opened, I saw the most dazzling valuables in my life! The chest was filled with gold, emeralds, diamonds, and anything other jewel you could think of! I closed the chest and returned to the surface, leaving the trail of magical shells behind to find my way back again. I thought to myself in bed that the grotto should slowly become my secret Caribbean home & hideout, where I could come to whenever I want! I then told myself that I will never have an adventure as great as this one ever again!

Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef by: Alex Goedhard
Last summer when I departed to Australia, my family decided that it would be the best time to go to the Great Barrier. My parents told me that we are not going back to Australia in a long time, so they made use of the time we had. It was a breathtaking experience.
We scrambled on to our flight from the Gold Coast, Australia, where my Grandma lives, to Cairns, Australia, which is the biggest city touching the Barrier Reef. From there we rented a car and drove to our hotel we spent a week at in Port Douglas, Australia.
Our first experience out in the reef was chaotic and troublesome. The ocean water was at an uncomfortable temperature and the current was unbearably strong. This impeded our ability to see all of the wondrous sea-creatures and coral in the concealed world of the ocean. My parents knew we were highly likely to not go back to the Great Barrier Reef as a family, so they booked another trip. We picked the perfect day, because it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and the weather was clear and the sun made everything lively.
On this trip, we were on a much larger boat that took us out to the reef that could carry up to 150 people. We were lucky that day, because there was only about 80 people so our trip wasn’t so crowded.
When we first started snorkeling, we could already see the wonderful God-created sea life. It felt like a whole different world! There were so many different types of coral, in all sizes. There were some giant boulders of sponge coral that were probably two times bigger than me! I felt overwhelmed by all of the diverse variety of coral, crustaceans, and fish they surrounded us. The visibility was extensive, so we had a widespread view all around us. We also saw a black-tip reef shark, which is completely harmless unless provoked.
At the end of the day, we were exhausted. I had seen another of the Seven Wonders of the World. At the end I realized that this might be a once in a lifetime experience. I thanked God for the wonderful earth he has made and my parents for their hard work to pay for this expensive trip to one of the most beautiful places.
