The Pineapple Express by: Jessica Finch
The Pineapple Express is a storm that originated from Hawaii and traveled to the west coast of the USA. One effect of the Pineapple Express was that the roads—especially the main ones—closed. It was very dangerous to go anywhere. We have lots of protection; some countries don’t have any at all. California closed their roads; they clearly did not want anyone to become injured.
Another effect of the Pineapple Express was that weather forecasters were highly expecting flash-floods. Pineapple Express is classified as a river of tropical moisture that flows through the west coast. The flash-floods destroyed a lot of houses, and most-likely killed a ton of people. Hopefully this storm will pass through and every-one will be safe.
The last effect of the Pineapple Express were the high-winds. The wind attained about 80 miles per hour. In the morning—after the storm was over—all of the trees, chairs, and plants were scattered throughout the ground. My whole life—not that long—I have been afraid of wind and storms. I am so glad that the storm has passed through Washington and hope it never comes back.

Mt. St. Helens by: Lorelai Dunn
Mt. Saint Helens- a very well-known mountain- erupted in 1980. It happened because all of the magma that was building up inside the mountain pushed out and caused the eruption.
During the eruption the lava spilled out of the volcano and came rushing down destroying everything in its path including; trees, grass, anything from 10 miles were destroyed.
The volcano did not just destroy plants, it destroyed homes everywhere; by the end of the volcano they estimated that over 200 hundred homes were destroyed. Because those homes were destroyed, 57 people lost their lives during the eruption.
Since the volcano erupted, ash spread everywhere. The Mt. St. Helens destruction might have only been in one state, but the ash spread over 7 states! Mrs. Martinell was about to have her birthday party when it erupted. Because the ash was harmful, people couldn’t go outside so Mrs. Martinell had her birthday party with someone could come. (There was only one person there)
Mt. Saint Helens destroyed many lives and homes; it is something we will never forget.

WildWood by: Talia Weiss
When Prue -for the first time- went into Wildwood, it caused a string of events, ranging from a war to a giant bird being shot down. But first off, let us establish that she went into Wildwood to retrieve her brother, as he was kidnapped by a murder of crows.
Curtis blindly followed suit, and because of this, he was kidnapped by a band of coyotes. The Dowager Governess intoxicated him with her words; consequently making him join the coyote’s army.
He finally escaped -after learning of the Dowager’s evil plans- and was pushed into the bandit’s camp, as a result of this, found Prue. Soon after, the Wildwood Irregulars fought in a battle of tremendous accounts to find Prue’s brother.
But, alas, this was bound to happen as her parents, in order to have kids, sold their second child to the Dowager Governess; and as promised, the murder took the young second-born child.

School Transfer by: Alex Goedhard
The most life-changing effect in my life is transferring to Eastside Christian School. My parents decided it would be best for me to be educated in a loving, Christian environment, work in smaller class sizes, and to unite with God. Because of this, I have learned a truck load about God.
Being educated in a loving environment is extremely beneficial; it allows you to know that your teachers really care about your future. Due to the caring teachers, this enforces students to be kind to each other.
Big classes can be helpful when you want to find many friends; however, they can be distracting. Also with lots of people the classroom can turn rowdy and it is hard to pay attention. At Eastside Christian, there are only 18 students for the entire sixth grade!
Most importantly, I came to know God. Being taught about the Lord and the Bible caused me to follow the Ten Commandments, how to respect others, and how to pray. This didn’t just affect me but even acquired my parent’s attention! Soon they were reading the Bible and doing research. In Eastside Christian middle school you have a 50 minute Bible period and a chapel service every Monday morning.
Eastside Christian drastically changed my life. Now I enjoy school more than ever.

Youtube by: David Kim
Nowadays, people use the program called “YouTube.” This program is where people upload videos of entertainment, blogs, and other things. Because of YouTube, people act differently and relate differently. For example, people relate to what they saw in a specific video and then they talk to others about it.
The next effect is that there is a wider variety of music that we can try. Some music stars create a music video and share it on YouTube. Some people even produce their own music and can become a “YouTube star,” like Pentatonix, The Piano Guys, and Lindsey Stirling.
Because of YouTube, people are no longer worried about missing TV shows because now all the episodes are posted on YouTube. Also, people have started to watch web shows instead of watching TV shows.
Since YouTube was created, we act and relate differently, we have a greater variety of music, and we have less worries about missing TV shows.

Forest Fires by: Brooke Reynolds
Forest fires can have beneficial results, or become major
disasters. Forest fires can be started in many different ways.
Lightning is one of the main natural causes of forest fires; the
bolt would be hot enough for just a tiny spark to create a fire.
Fires can also be started artificially, like with unattended
campfires, or discarded cigarettes. Even though most campsites
have enclosed fire pits, some people start fires on open ground,
that may end up causing forest fires.
Forest fires are very unhealthy for the environment; fire
creates smoke, which pollutes the air. The raging flames can
also burn and destroy whole ecosystems! Imagine what life
would be like without trees. Even though almost all of the
results of forest fires are horrible, there is one result that is
beneficial.
Evergreen seeds, or pine cones, open up in the immense
heat of the fire. When the pine cones fall from the tree, the
seed's protective shell opens up to reveal the unharmed seed.
The seed eventually is covered up by dirt, and starts to grow!
Then before you know it, a whole new forest of little trees is
growing! Even though regrowth can happen, it is no excuse for
starting a forest fire.
